This is the third and probably last part of my short little Lyra series of comics. So … err … “They all lived happily ever after,” =P.

QUESTION: I’m actually pretty curious about this. Does what Twilight say in this comic actually help anyone? And I mean at the time; not in retrospect. Think back to how you felt and how you reacted when someone trivialised and dismissed your feelings in this way. Did the thought of other people suffering relieve you in any way and, if so, how? What did you think about the way your feelings were being dismissed because you weren’t suffering enough? Did it help to know that, in the grand scheme of things, your feelings don’t matter? Did good intentions help? Was it enough to have someone who cared enough to tell you that your feelings don’t matter? I’m genuinely curious, because I hear this all the time and I can’t imagine a situation in which it actually help, but I’d like to hear what others think.

Ralph : I'll handle this (to Lyra) Listen Lyra you're way better than this, I know your relationship didn't end well and I know that feeling. Me and Twilight's relationship don't always work out but we always get a chance to make amends later. So don't just let Bon Bon get you down, you're actually a very nice looking mare! Anypony would wanna go out with you!!!

For the most part telling someone to get over it cause others are worst off doesn't really comfort. It might help some people to try to be resolute to persevere through it but when it's something like a person you care about rejecting you telling the person that there's others worst off and they should be thankful for what they have is usually just going to agitate them. At least while they haven't even started healing.
